ICLEI Canada and the City of Vancouver at Resilient Cities 2013
May 31 - June 2, 2013
From May 31 - June 2, ICLEI is hosting the 4th annual Resilient Cities Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation, the key global platform for local governments and other urban-minded thinkers and practitioners to share challenges, strategies, and solutions, debate new ideas, and create partnerships to help achieve adaptation and resilience at the local level.
ICLEI Canada is excited to be taking an active role at the Resilient Cities Forum by bringing a delegation from the City of Vancouver, an ICLEI member, to present in a Reality Check Workshop on Sunday, June 2. This unique opportunity will allow for in-depth presentations and discussion on the unique successes, challenges, and lessons learned as part of the City's adaptation and resiliency efforts, particularly as a participant in the pilot Adaptation Initiative program (now known as the Building Adaptive & Resilient Communities Program).
Nick Weigeldt from ICLEI Canada will also be facilitating a session on Friday, May 31st entitled New Tools and Strategies for Urban Risk Assessment that will feature practitioners and researchers from Spain, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
If you're planning on attending, please find us and say hi!
