Dans le cadre du programme Partenaires dans la protection du climat (PPC), nous reconnaissons les profondes iniquit\u00e9s qui existent dans les espaces li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019action climatique et les efforts de protection de l\u2019environnement. Nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moins des r\u00e9percussions in\u00e9quitables de l\u2019action climatique sur diff\u00e9rentes collectivit\u00e9s. Les pratiques d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, de diversit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion (EDI) doivent \u00eatre int\u00e9gr\u00e9es dans un processus d\u2019apprentissage continu qui exige une r\u00e9flexion, la collaboration et l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de relations, ainsi qu\u2019un v\u00e9ritable respect pour l\u2019humanit\u00e9 et la justice sociale.<\/p>\n

Ce guide a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9labor\u00e9 pour permettre aux collectivit\u00e9s locales d’approfondir leurs propres r\u00e9flexions et processus et de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir aux moyens d’am\u00e9liorer leurs pratiques en mati\u00e8re d’EDI. Il comprend un aper\u00e7u des informations cruciales sur l\u2019EDI dans le cadre de l\u2019action climatique, passe en revue la terminologie importante et pr\u00e9sente des exemples de mesures d\u2019action climatique et d\u2019EDI. Il examine \u00e9galement des le\u00e7ons qui permettent de voir comment les principes de l\u2019EDI peuvent \u00eatre incorpor\u00e9s dans la planification de l\u2019action pour la protection du climat.<\/p>\n

Integrating equity, diversity and inclusion into municipal climate action<\/h1>

Deep inequities that exist in climate action spaces and environmental protection efforts. Through the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program, we have witnessed how climate action impacts diverse communities in inequitable ways. Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices must be integrated into municipal climate action as part of an ongoing learning process that requires reflexivity, collaboration and relationship building with genuine regard for humanity and social justice.<\/p>

This resource was developed to help local governments further their own reflections and EDI processes and\/or to reflect on ways to improve their EDI practices. It includes an overview of crucial information about EDI in climate action, reviews important terminology and offers a number of examples of climate action and EDI practices. It also explores lessons to introduce how EDI principles can be incorporated into climate action planning.<\/p>

While this resource includes reflections on what we and our partners have learned so far, it is by no means the end of our learning journey.
