Au d\u00e9but de 2019, ICLEI Canada et LURA Consulting ont termin\u00e9 le Plan pour un environnement sain (PES) de la Ville de Kawartha Lakes. Le Plan vise \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de GES et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer l\u2019\u00e9tat de pr\u00e9paration, la r\u00e9ponse et l\u2019adaptation \u00e0 un climat plus chaud, plus humide et plus impr\u00e9visible. Dans le PES, Kawartha Lakes a cern\u00e9 24 strat\u00e9gies pour r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions ainsi que les d\u00e9chets, et pour am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9silience des biens de la collectivit\u00e9 et de la Ville, la sant\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00eatre humain et de l\u2019environnement, et la protection des populations vuln\u00e9rables.<\/p>\n

L\u2019approche de la Ville de Kawartha Lakes \u00e0 l\u2019action climatique est unique pour plusieurs raisons, principalement parce que le Plan pour un environnement sain tient compte de l\u2019action climatique int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u2013 abordant l\u2019att\u00e9nuation et l\u2019adaptation de mani\u00e8re holistique. La forte participation de la collectivit\u00e9 dans l\u2019\u00e9laboration du Plan est \u00e9galement digne de mention. Le Plan a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9labor\u00e9 conjointement avec un comit\u00e9 directeur compos\u00e9 d\u2019employ\u00e9s provenant de plusieurs services municipaux et d\u2019organismes locaux, et un groupe de travail compos\u00e9 de 23 organisations externes, soit un \u00e9chantillon repr\u00e9sentatif d\u2019organisations locales, pour offrir une meilleure perspective des int\u00e9r\u00eats et des priorit\u00e9s de la collectivit\u00e9. Les membres de la collectivit\u00e9 ont \u00e9galement contribu\u00e9 tout au long du processus de planification, en offrant de la r\u00e9troaction sur la vision, les objectifs et les strat\u00e9gies propos\u00e9s. Le PES a \u00e9t\u00e9 fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de discussions avec plus de 2 600 personnes et 40 organisations, organismes et groupes de la collectivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

In early 2019, ICLEI Canada and LURA Consulting completed the City of Kawartha Lakes\u2019 Healthy Environment Plan (HEP). The Plan aims to reduce GHG emissions and better prepare, respond and adapt to a warmer, wetter and more unpredictable climate. In the HEP, Kawartha Lakes has identified 24 strategies to lower emissions, reduce waste, and enhance the resilience of community and City assets, human and environmental health, and the protection of vulnerable populations.<\/p>\r\n

The City of Kawartha Lakes\u2019 approach to climate action is unique for several reasons, primarily because the Healthy Environment Plan considers integrated climate action \u2013 addressing mitigation and adaptation holistically. Community involvement in the development of the plan was also notably strong. The Plan was developed collaboratively with a Steering Committee made up of staff from several City departments and local institutions, as well as a Working Group of 23 external organizations who represented cross section of local organizations and provided a broader sense of community interests and priorities. Community members also contributed throughout the planning process, providing input on the proposed vision, goals and strategies. The HEP was shaped from conversations with over 2,600 people and 40 organizations, institutions and community groups.<\/p>\r\n[\/et_pb_cta][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.4.0\" text_font=\"||||||||\" text_font_size=\"8px\" hover_enabled=\"0\"]
