Building to Net-Zero Cohort: Information and Q&A Webinar

Building to Net-Zero Cohort: Information and Q&A Webinar

Tuesday, May 14, 2024 | 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm ET | Online

The adoption of building energy performance frameworks by municipalities is a key component of efforts to achieve a net-zero building sector in Canada. To that end, the Building to Net-Zero (BNZ) Cohort is a training and capacity-building program designed to help 12-15 small to mid-sized municipalities along their development and implementation journey. Municipalities interested in joining the BNZ Cohort were invited to join this webinar to learn more about BNZ project goals, timelines, what to expect from the BNZ Cohort, and how to apply to become a Cohort member. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions in an interactive Q&A session. A recording is available as a resource for those who were unable to join the live webinar.

Webinar Replay and Presentation

Watch the webinar replay to learn more about BNZ project goals, phases, and timelines. You will also learn what to expect from the BNZ Cohort, how to apply to become a Cohort member, and listen in on an insightful Q&A session.

About the BNZ Project

BNZ is a four-year project funded by Natural Resource Canada’s Codes Acceleration Fund designed to help small to mid-sized municipalities adopt building energy performance frameworks. Together, municipalities, ICLEI Canada staff, and subject-area experts will identify and overcome adoption challenges in 12-15 Canadian municipalities, outlining a clear pathway towards net-zero building energy. Plus, resources developed and lessons learned along the way will be shared through a Canada-wide community of practice to support the broader adoption of building performance frameworks in municipalities across the country.

Interested in Joining the BNZ Cohort?

Is your small or mid-sized municipality working to adopt an energy and building performance framework that aligns with national model energy codes? If you could use some support on this journey, we invite you to join the BNZ Cohort. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm ET June 14, 2024.

The BNZ project is funded by Natural Resource Canada’s Codes Acceleration Fund.
