Capacity Building for Climate Resilience in Manitoba

ICLEI Canada was retained by the Sustainable Development Manitoba to run a series of workshops throughout Manitoba on barriers and opportunities to advance climate adaptation action throughout the Province. We knew that a lot of information and tools existed, but the capacity to apply these tools and use them to inform decisions was lacking. This project was designed specifically to bridge the gap between how tools and information are developed and their successful application.

ICLEI developed high impact consultation and engagement workshops with targeted decision makers and stakeholders in four key sectors:

1. Indigenous and northern communities, organizations
2. Business sector organizations
3. Municipal communities or regions and watershed planning organizations
4. Infrastructure decision makers and organizations
