4th BARC Impact Report
We are turning our sights to collective implementation with diverse partners, at various scales, and across sectors.
Through national, regional, and community-level conversations, we are constantly hearing about challenges and opportunities facing local adaptation practitioners, policy makers, researchers, and thought leaders. The 4th BARC Impact Report presents insights and priorities that have emerged from these ongoing conversations over the past year including:
- Increasing the pace of implementation
- Getting comfortable with failing forward
- Unlocking innovative finance mechanisms for adaptation
- Mainstreaming climate governance and accountability
- Addressing the climate and housing crises in tandem
- Finding the climate action and biodiversity nexus
- Weaving together knowledge systems to advance climate action
The report also highlights ways in which the BARC program has helped over 120 Canadian communities prepare for and address the risks of climate change over the past 15 years.
