Adaptation Canada 2026

September 22–24, 2026 | Toronto, ON

Across Canada, climate impacts are increasing. People in communities, sectors, and organizations are coming up with solutions that strengthen resilience at the local, regional, and national levels. Adaptation Canada 2026 built on this momentum and provided a whole-of-society approach to guide us into the future. Delivered by ICLEI Canada with support from a network of partners, and funded in part by the Government of Canada, Adaptation Canada 2026 convened 1000 practitioners from across the country to shape our climate resilient future.

We will be sharing presentations, photos, and reflections in the coming weeks. Sign up for our email list and follow us on LinkedIn to receive all updates.

Working Together is More Important Than Ever

Across Canada, climate impacts are increasing. People in communities, sectors, and organizations are coming up with solutions that strengthen resilience at the local, regional, and national levels. Adaptation Canada 2026 builds on this momentum and provides a whole-of-society approach to guide us into the future. More than a conference, Adaptation Canada is an opportunity to break down silos, build meaningful connections, and help shape long-term solutions to our biggest climate challenges.

Add Your Voice to National Climate Adaptation Discussions

Adaptation Canada 2026 will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Annishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. A vibrant hub of government, business, and innovation, Toronto offers an ideal backdrop for discussions on climate adaptation, public/private partnerships, and collective action. Join us for three days of insightful panels, hands-on workshops, dynamic city-wide tours, exhibitions, networking events, and more.

“Canada’s National Adaptation Strategy is essential for achieving climate resilience, enabling us to protect people, nature, infrastructure, and the economy from the impacts of climate change. Conferences like Adaptation Canada are key to turning that vision into reality. Extreme weather—including forest fires, flooding and droughts—are impacting our communities, our livelihoods and our economy. Working together to improve our climate resilience is a cost effective and affordable way to safeguard our future. It helps prevent greater costs down the road, while protecting Canadians and the place they call home today.”

— The Honourable Julie Dabrusin
Minister of Environment and Climate Change

Advisory Group

Adaptation Canada 2026 is made possible thanks to a network of practitioners leading climate adaptation work across sectors, scales, and regions. Planning for Adaptation Canada 2026 is being undertaken through the collaborative efforts of an Advisory Group, which is composed of the ICLEI Project team, funding agreement oversight committee members, implementing partners, and advisory partners. These include:

These partners help guide the vision of the conference, shape the program, and ensure the event reflects the breadth and depth of adaptation leadership in Canada.
