Cowichan Valley Regional District Climate Change and Social Services Workshop

In September 2018, ICLEI Canada worked with the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) to deliver a half day workshop that brought together social service providers from the CVRD community. The purpose of the workshop was to help participants overcome common hurdles to understanding projected climate impacts, and to gain useful skills for integrating these impacts into their service delivery. The workshop was an interactive forum focused on providing tools that participants could apply in their efforts to layer climate change into existing work. A large group of agencies were represented including health agencies, environmental organizations, faith-based organizations, and those working to reduce social vulnerability.
