PIEVC Abridged Case Studies

ICLEI Canada worked with Engineers Canada to produce abridged PIEVC Case Studies. The PIEVC Engineering Protocol provides a uniform platform for assessing infrastructure vulnerability to climate change in relation to the nature, severity, and probability of future climate changes. To streamline and simplify the communications of these lengthy assessments and associated reports, ICLEI developed a 3-page case study format, and summarized two key assessments: City of Welland’s Stormwater and Wastewater Collection and Treatment System as well as Toronto Community Housing Building – 285 Shuter Street. Through the case studies the reader can learn about the data gathering process, risk assessment, engineering analysis, conclusions and recommendations as well as drivers, constraints and options for replicability.
