Getting to Net-Zero: Virtual Municipal Climate Budgeting Workshop

Climate budgeting is a new and emerging trend in the municipal climate space that could help achieve net-zero resiliency goals. But, what exactly is it and how can this tool help advance our climate goals? In this interactive virtual workshop, participants learned about climate budgeting and contemplated how it could advance their community’s climate objectives through interactive exercises.

The Municipal Net-Zero Action Research Partnership (N-ZAP) is a collaboration between the University of Waterloo, ICLEI Canada and FCM’s Green Municipal Fund as well as 11 external academic partners, 8 national organizations, and over 13 municipal partners. N-ZAP is recruiting 250 Canadian municipalities to participate as pilot cities or case study subjects as we study and create improved methods for how local governments monitor, measure and reduce local GHG emissions.
