Leaders in the industry
Our long history of innovation, creativity and collaboration in building more sustainable communities has made us leaders in the industry, most notably in:
- Development and implementation of local climate mitigation and adaptation planning frameworks, widely known as PCP and BARC.
- Designing and facilitating multi-sectoral workshops training seminars, and consultations.
- Gathering, inspiring and motivating industry leaders and municipal decision makers through events such as the Livable Cities Forum.
- Developing applied tools, research and strategies to advance municipal climate mitigation and adaptation practice.
A national link to a global network
Canadian ICLEI members are part of a global network of more than 2,500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 125+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. Our Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability.
